Day 1 – Porto, Historical & Home of Port Wine
Explore this World Heritage waterfront city, with origins dating back to Roman times, and renowned worldwide for its wines. Porto is a lively city, perfect for exploring on foot, cruising on the river, or savoring from a tasting room.

Day 2 – Braga & Guimarães, The Cradle of Portugal
These two medieval towns embody much of Portugal’s early history.
The city of Guimarães is deeply tied to the foundation of Portugal as a free nation, often referred to as the “cradle of Portuguese nationality.” This small medieval village, dating back to the 10th century, is rich with impressive monuments, palaces, and convents. Beyond its charming historic center, Guimarães offers a medieval experience not to be missed.
Braga, once a Celtic stronghold, later fell to the Romans, Germanic invaders, 8th-century Moors, and finally to the crusaders. With such a complex history, Braga has seen its share of conquerors, yet this beautiful city has retained a unique spirit of its own. Filled with parks, pilgrimage sites, and Neolithic and Celtic ruins, Braga is a town that celebrates Portugal’s ancient and layered origins.

Day 4 – Óbidos Medieval Town & Nazaré Fishing Village
Driving south toward Lisbon, we stop in Óbidos, a romantic medieval village filled with charming artisan shops and quaint restaurants. As you enter the fortified walls of this well-preserved village, you feel as if you have stepped back in time. Your tour allows you to walk along the castle walls, taste local sweets and delicacies, and breathe in the air of “amor.” If you’re lucky, you may catch a violinist serenading visitors or experience the opera festival during the summer season. This colorful village is a must-see for everyone with “amor” in their hearts!
This once-sleepy fishing village, Nazaré, is now a pilgrimage site for adventurers of all kinds. From the cliff top, gaze out over the Nazaré Canyon, home of the legendary 100-foot waves and world surfing records. Further back, you’ll find a quaint chapel honoring the Virgin Mary and commemorating a series of miracles.
Let your senses transport you to the past, then return to the present as you watch daring surfers and local seafarers brave these monster waves, living in harmony with the mighty sea.

Day 5 – Lisbon, City of 7 Hills
Known as the “City of 7 Hills,” Lisbon has been the capital of Portugal since 1385. From the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Celts, Romans, Moors, Visigoths, and various medieval kingdoms, both the city and its architecture showcase a uniquely blended personality found only on the Iberian Peninsula. Lisbon seamlessly combines modern and ancient elements, exuding culture and charm in an open and inviting way.
We begin the day with a leisurely walk through the historic center, extending into charming neighborhoods as we pass grand monuments, lively squares, and historic statues. Lunch will be enjoyed near the riverfront. Later, we journey upriver to Belém to visit the iconic Fortress Tower of Belém, the Discoverers Monument, the impressive Jerónimos Monastery, and the renowned custard tart shop, “Pastéis de Belém.”
For those inspired by the experience, the tour can extend into the evening (optional add-on) with a visit to a Fado performance—the musical soul of Portugal.
Dinner is at your discretion to allow for a full range of gastronomical options (not included). Your Lisbon travel guide can arrange reservations and ensure seamless transportation back to your hotel.

Day 6 – Sintra, a Fairy Tale & Cascais
Your day begins in Sintra, a magical mountain where the ambiance feels as though fairies might still exist. Located along the Atlantic coast, this unique microclimate transforms the Mediterranean landscape into a lush hillside paradise. Dotted with grand estates, palaces, picnic grounds, and public gardens, Sintra offers an abundance of sights to explore—one day is hardly enough. To start, you can choose from several impressive landmarks, such as the colorful Pena Palace, the exquisite Monserrate Palace and Gardens, and more.
After leaving Sintra, we’ll enjoy lunch by the sea, taking in the stunning Atlantic views. From there, we’ll head down the coast for a brief stop at the westernmost point of Europe before continuing to the seaside town of Cascais. Once a quaint fishing village turned into a resort destination for European aristocracy, Cascais now blends beaches, fortresses, a grand marina, charming restaurants and boutiques, and a scenic promenade with sweeping views of the Atlantic.
This breathtaking region was famously described by Lord Byron as “… the most beautiful in the world.”

Day 7 – Evora & Monsaraz Medieval Towns
Explore two towns steeped in layers of history, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, cork trees, and ancient sites. Alentejo, one of Portugal’s top wine regions, offers an experience you can’t miss—be sure to attend at least one wine tasting!
Your day begins in Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Here, you’ll find an array of churches, cathedrals, and ancient architecture dating back to Roman times and through the centuries. Take time to enjoy wine tasting, shop for unique handicrafts and experience life in the heart of the Alentejo.
Next, we travel to Monsaraz, a small fortified village that reflects the legacy of the Celts, Romans, Moors, and Knights Templar. Settled and cultivated since ancient times, Monsaraz showcases its rich history through Roman winemaking methods, Arabic hydraulic systems, regional cuisine, and Celtic sites scattered across the surrounding landscape. From this hilltop village, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Alentejo countryside and its picturesque whitewashed villages below. In 2015, this region was honored as the European Wine Capital.
Along the way, we’ll stop in São Pedro do Corval, one of Portugal’s largest pottery centers. Here, artisans work the clay and paint traditional designs inspired by olive oil, wine, and cork production.
